Professor Alistair MacLeary: Honorary Professor, University of Heriot-Watt. Member of the Lands Tribunal for Scotland (1989-2005). Formerly MacRobert Professor of Land Economy at the University of Aberdeen. Previous public appointments included membership of the Natural Environment Research Council and the Scottish Valuation and Rating Council. Member of the Council and Chairman of the Scottish Committee since September 2005.
Ms Lyndy Boyd: Solicitor with the Care Commission in Dundee. Associate lecturer, monitor and consultant for the Open University. Previously worked as a Reporter to the Children's Panel and as a welfare rights officer. Member of the Scottish Committee since December 2004.
Mrs Elizabeth Cameron: Formerly deputy manager of the Edinburgh Central Citizens Advice Bureau (1989-2002) and co-ordinator of the mediation service/manager of the In Court Adviser Service at Edinburgh Sheriff's Court (1997-2002). Lay member of the Scottish Solicitors Discipline Tribunal since 2001. Accredited CEDR mediator. Member of the Scottish Mediation Network. Member of the Council and the Scottish Committee since September 2002.
Mrs Eileen MacDonald: Solicitor with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, responsible for the practical implementation of water legislation. Director of 'The Vine Trust' charity since April 2003. Member of the Scottish Committee since July 2007.
Mr Stephen Mannion QPM: Scottish Area Commander of the British Transport Police from 1992-1999 following a career with Strathclyde Police from 1960-1992 reaching the rank of Assistant Chief Constable. Awarded the Queen's Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 1997. Lay member of the Employment Tribunal Service from 1999 to August 2001. Member of the Council and of the Scottish Committee since August 2001.
Mr Michael Menlowe: Associate of the General Medical Council (GMC) where he sits as a lay panellist on Fitness to Practise panels, the disciplinary tribunals of the GMC. Recently worked as Head of the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences in the University of Edinburgh. Board member of the Scottish Refugee Council in 2006 and, recently, lay member of the Royal College of Pathologists. Member of the Scottish Committee since July 2007.
Mrs Audrey Watson: Solicitor with the legal services section of West Lothian Council, responsible for licensing and training JPs. Depute Clerk of Court and Depute Clerk of the Peace. Project co-ordinator for the District Courts Association. Consultant providing training in relation to the practice and procedure of District Courts. Legal Assessor and former panel member for the Health Professions Council and Depute Clerk to the Scottish Solicitors Discipline Tribunal. Member of the Scottish Committee since August 2001.
Mrs Ann Abraham: Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration and Health Service Commissioner (a.k.a. Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman). Ex officio member of the Council and the Scottish Committee since November 2002.
